What is Micro needling?
Micro needling, also known as collagen induction therapy of skin- pen, Stimulates your skin’s natural ability to repair itself and produce new collagen and elastin for healthier, younger looking skin. Micro needling is extremely versatile and can be used on all parts of the body: face , neck , décolleté, arms, legs ,abdomen and back.
How does it work?
Micro needling creates microscopic channels which allow for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism. This in turn triggers new collagen and elastin fibers to form creating a result of smoother, firmer and younger looking skin. It can reverse years of sun damage, improve acne, surgical scars, reduce pore size and enhance the overall appearance of aging skin.
Am I a candidate?
Yes! Micro needling techniques can be performed on all skin types.
Who is NOT a candidate?
Micro needling treatments are contraindicated for patients with: keloid scars, scleroderma, collagen vascular disease or disease or cardiac or abnormalities, a hemorrhagic disorder or hemostatic dysfunction, active bacteria or fungal infection. Micro needling treatments have not been evaluated in the following pati, as such, precautions should be taken when determining whether to treat: scars and stretch marks less than one year old ; women who are pregnant or nursing; keloid scars; patients with history of eczema, psoriasis and other chronic condition; patient with history of actinic (solar) keratosis; patients with history of herpes simplex infections; diabetes or patients with wound-healing deficiencies; patients on immunosuppressive therapy; and skin with presence of raised moles or warts or targeted area.
What is the downtime?
After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area begin treated. Total healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin and the depth of the repair process required. On average, patients are pink for two to four days. Some patients heal completely in 24 hours.
When will I see results?
Most people notice healthier looking skin immediately. The nature repair process of the skin continues to progress over the courses of several weeks. Dermal collagen remodeling takes place over time and it will continue to improve for up to 6 months after treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required will vary from patient to patient and we will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. Although one treatment is beneficial, a series of treatments is usually recommended. Multiple treatments (3-6) may be necessary over 4-8 week intervals . After your initial treatment series, periodic maintenance may be advised (depending upon conditions treated. We may also combine your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.
What should I do to prepare for this treatment?
Within 2 weeks prior to your treatment discontinue the following: waxing , depilatory use, electrolysis, laser hair removal
What should I expect after my treatment?
You are likely to experience some mild to moderate redness, stinging , skin flaking or mild irritation. Most people leave looking like they have a sunburn. This will disappear throughout the day. Most patients will have some light to mild flaking over the next days.

Micro needling
It is through the use of a safe, natural, holistic alternative for resurfacing of the skin using micro needles without an aggressive machine, to produce optimal results and rejuvenate the skin. There may be some temporary minor bleeding during the treatment as well as some mild discomfort during the procedure. Topical coolness or anesthetic cream may be used if needed for tolerance.

Pre Care
- Avoid excessive Alcohol, Aspirin, NSAIDs (ibuprofen, Aleve)Garlic, Gingko Biloba, Fish Oils and Vitamin E, RetinA for 5-7 days prior to your treatment unless recommended by your physician. This may help to decrease the risk of bruising during your treatment but is not contraindicated.
- Stop using topical retinoids 1 week prior to treatment
- Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks prior to the treatment
- For Cold Sore sufferers - it is recommended to take anti-viral medication, the day before, the day of after your treatment. O Antiviral Treatments - Take as directed o Please let us know if you need a prescription
- Avoidance of IPL/Laser procedures for the past 7 days prior
- No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis 5-7 days prior to the peel.
- No shaving the day of the procedure
- No significant changes in the skin recently reported including breakdown of skin or excess dryness or sunburn
Post Care
- The initial 72 hours post-procedure are the most critical
- Avoid direct sun and heat for 3-4 weeks. This includes simple day to day tasks such as gardening, cooking over a hot stove for a long period of time, sitting next to a bonfire or fireplace, etc.
- Discontinue use of any Alpha-Hydroxy products 5 days after treatment. You may resume your home care regimen when skin is no longer flaking and peeling
- Use hydrating and reparative products. Products rich in soothing and healing ingredients are best to encourage new healthy cell growth. Peptides, antioxidants, stem cells, vitamins A, C and E, and growth factors work very well
- Use physical sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher. Reapply every 30 to 90 minutes. Do NOT go outside without sun protection (even on a cloudy day).

- Do not apply your regular make-up and SPF for a minimum of 24 hours after your treatment
- Itching, redness and swelling are normal parts of the healing process. These symptoms rarely persist longer than 24-72 hrs.
- Do NOT scratch or peel the skin as this may cause permanent scarring
- Limit exercise the first week
- Drink plenty of water
- Special camouflage foundation called Oxygenetics can be worn which promotes the healing of damaged skin post treatment
